Hello everyone! Welcome to OZ Bowling in Dielsdorf. Today I am going to show you how to choose the correct bowling ball. I have observed many people who struggle to find the correct ball. If you follow these 3 tips, you can be sure to find the right ball for you in no time. Tip 1: Stick to the 10% Rule. A bowling ball shouldn’t weigh more than 10% of your body weight. For example: 1 Kg is approximately 2 Lbs. I weigh 70 Kg. That is approximately 140 Lbs. So the best ball for me is a number 14 ball because 10% of 140 is 14. So that’s the correct choice for me. A school child that weighs 40 Kg is approximately 80-90 Lbs. So the best ball is a number 8. It’s important that you feel comfortable and that the ball is not too heavy or too light. Hey… It’s easy – you just need to have fun! Tip 2: It’s important that the holes are not too large or too small so that your fingers can slip right in. That’s why I use a 14 ball. My thumb, ring finger and middle finger fit comfortably and feeling comfortable is the most important thing in bowling. Tip 3: When holding the ball make sure that your finger fits between the ball and the palm of your hand. It’s important that the gap is not too big or even so open a gap which suggests the holes are too close to one another. The size of the holes are just right when your finger fits snuggly between your hand and the bowling ball. It’s easy to find the right ball with these 3 tips.
