BSU Women’s Hockey Looking to Build on Sweep of Mavericks


WE’LL HAVE MORE ON THE PREP BOWL MATCH-UP LATER THIS WEEK.>>>THE BEMIDJI STATE WOMEN’S HOCKEY TEAM IS SPENDING THANKSGIVING ON THE ROAD AS THE BEAVERS ARE OFF TO ALBANY TO TAKE ON RPI. IT’S THE FINAL LEG OF A THREE-SERIES ROAD TRIP, ONE THAT GOT A MUCH NEEDED BOOST LAST WEEKEND. THE BEAVERS SNAPPED A SIX-GAME LOSING STREAK ON FRIDAY THANKS TO A LAUREN BENCH SHUTOUT. THEN THE OFFENSE CAME ALIVE ON SATURDAY SCORING FIVE GOALS TO GIVE THE BEAVERS THE SWEEP. THAT’S THE MOST GOALS THE BEAVERS HAVE SCORED IN A GAME THIS SEASON, AND THEY’LL TRY TO CONTINUE THAT SUCCESS AGAINST THE ENGINEERS, A TEAM THE BEAVERS HAVE ONLY PLAYED ONE GAME AGAINST ALL TIME.>>I THINK WE STARTED MAKES LIKE SIMPLE PLAYS AND WE KNEW FRIDAY, WE HAD A LOT OF SHOTS ON THEIR GOALIE. SHE’S A BIG GOALIE, SET UP A LOT OF REBOUNDS. WE WENT THERE AND CAPITALIZED ON THEM. WE HAD A LOT OF CHANCES.>>WE HAVE THE SIX GAMES LEFT BEFORE THE BREAK. YOU KNOW, WE’VE GOT A GREAT OPPORTUNITY.
