Chamonix Mont Blanc , Chamonix , World Renowned Ski Resort

Chamonix Mont Blanc, France is a resort area
near the junction of France, Switzerland and Italy. The Mont Blanc massif is popular for
outdoor activities like hiking, climbing, trail running and winter sports like skiing,
and snowboarding. Chamonix has been a world-renowned ski resort
ever since the Winter Olympics of 1924 were held here. Six different ski areas cater to
all levels, from beginners to extreme skiers. Besides skiing, Chamonix is a great place
for hiking, rock climbing, paragliding, golf and tennis, or just relaxing. Mount Blanc is a high-altitude mountain with
risks of ice, falls, avalanches, and medical complications. But that’s not why the mountain
is such a killer. There is a dangerous combination of elements — only some of them natural — that
come together to exacerbate the inherent risks of Mont Blanc. From the Mont Blanc mountain, there is a massive
glacier called the “mer de glace” means “sea of ice” that winds down all the way almost
to Chamonix through a high altitude valley called the “vallee Blanche” means “the white
valley”. It is clearly visible from Chamonix. The major airport closest to Cham is Geneva
which is about an hour and 15 minutes by road from the main town in the resort, Chamonix
Mont Blanc. Geneva airport is well serviced by cost efficient private shuttle buses transfers to the resort. It might be cheap to fly to Chamonix, and
accommodation costs are reasonable through summer too, but eating and drinking in the
town is pretty expensive and a night out with food and drinks will cost you a fair bit more
than an average night out in the UK Chamonix valley is a daily inspiration. Offering
unforgettable excursions to discover high mountain scenery, majestic ice falls and glaciers.
