HIGHLIGHTS | Ole Miss Volleyball vs. Iowa St 1-3 (08/31/19)

[dramatic music] Welcome to the Gillom Center on the campus of the
University of Mississippi. Day two of the 2019
Rebel Invitational gives us a Power Five showdown between Iowa State and Ole Miss. [cheers] [applause] Trapping the Rebels
outside, out there. I’d expect
to see that again today, with a line shot there. Stroup answers on
the right side. 6-4. Sultemeier can’t
get to that one. Set behind her.
Iowa State wins it. Played 18 matches a season ago, becoming a regular
part of the rotation, as a defensive specialist. And that’s just a
fantastic attack there. Emily Stroup answering. Just her fourth kill– Slide from Sultemeier, another kill for Ole Miss. Hatch goes off
hand, but is there. Bars now into the middle, and Warnell puts everything
she has behind that one. One point game. Mulkey roofed by Iowa State, and they take game num– Cyclones back on top
by one, here’s Anna. Bars gone to the middle.
It’s Warnell. She’s on fire this
at this match. Three ball now. Herrera the first, Mauck
the second, Hatch the third. A dig by Bair on the move, and then Stroup out of the
back row with the cannon. That’s how you want to do it. Purcell the floater,
Mauck goes up. Good awareness by Ole Miss, and now a three ball
chance offensively. Bars into the middle,
Warnell the kill. A good error, in tipping the ball
and giving Iowa State the opportunity to be in system. Stroup, powerful swing. Finds the line on the
opposite side of the floor. We’re going to a fourth game here at the Gillom
Center in Oxford. Her team,
often with the second contact, it’s up to the
hitters to determine the efficacy of the serve. Nayo Warnell, double figures on kills. Side line extended. Thompson the first ball,
Bars the second. Here comes Bair, wow! Getting the ball, or sending the ball over
the net, off the ground. So they can’t jump and
swing or jump and take. Warnell is blocked. That’s the first time we’ve
said that all afternoon, Wong. Flow, right side, roll back. Holthaus is dug
up by the Rebels. Bars goes outside to Bair, who goes cross court for a kill. And we’re all tied up at 21. Bars out to Bair
on the far side. Roofed again by the Cyclones. They win game four, 25-21, and take the match three games
to one, here on the road, a second straight season.
