How to Play Goalie in Hockey : Hockey Goalie Tips: Hugging the Post


Now we are going to be showing you how to
hug the post. If the player is coming down one side, the goalie needs to put one leg
up against the post as tight as possible. It’s important that you don’t leave too much
openings near the knee, as a puck could trickle its way into the net. Also, make sure the
stick of the goalie is on the ice to try to break up any passes.

  1. Wow this guy really sucks, he doesn't sound confident and he misses out a lot. I know this is just the basics, but he could talk about the legpad being puck side of the post or about coming out over-square. THanks for the effort dude, but I think you need a bit more experience before you try and coach.
