HOW TO REPAIR A BAT | HOW TO MAINTAIN A BAT | HOW TO CLEAN A BAT | HOW TO FIX A BAT

Mumbai. A city whose energy I really love. the best part, is the peer pressure. if we take that positively, we see everybody around moving all the time. no one is standing still. it tells you, that get up, go to work, and do something amazing. So we’re making an amazing episode of Cricket How To were going to Mohammed Ashraf brothers. this this is probably Mumbai’s most famous bat maker. Hello, How are you? -im good. ashraf brother repair bats and make their own as well. this rack is their off season demand, it is full in the season. Many of Mumbai’s famous cricketers have gotten bats made from them. From Dilip Vengsarkar and Mohinder Amarnath to Punam Raut, who rcently top scored in the Women’s World Cup so i asked him some common bat repair questions if there is a small crack, and you put glue or something inside, and that glue dries, then that glue forms a body. then when you take the bat for repair, its difficult. because there is already something inside. the wood will not meet the wood. that disturbs the bat shape. if it cracks and you dont take care of it, this is what happens. this needs major surgery. that cant be fixed at home. it has to be stuck surface to surface from there to here. if you want to do something, use the normal tape, ie fibre tape wrap it with that till the time you cant take it to the shop for repair. look at this closely, this is sandpaper, not a very heavy grade though, use long strokes on the bat. not short cross wise strokes, long strokes along the grains. apply a bit of pressure. thats clean now. if you use some kind of glue to seal up the grains, then the bottom will last longer. put the glue like this on the bottom, make sure it doesn’t come on to the sides. make sure it goes only where it’ssupposed to. (what glue is this?)- fevikwik the one you get for five rupees. even if you put it only on the front side, that’s enough, because when the bat touches the ground, thats the part that touches first. its better if you dont touch the bat much. by that i mean, don’t touch the blade our hands are sweaty, they secrete oil. all that goes into the wood of the bat. that can spoil a bat. always hold the bat by the handle. if youre handing it to someone, offer them the handle like we do with a knife or scissor. so give the bat also by the handle. keep the bat away from moisture, moisture is the enemy of wood dont touch the blade of the bat, don’t keep the bat in the grass, dont keep it with sweaty clothes. the threads often come loose, so you should unravel it as far as it goes. use fevicol. just keep following the thread. seal up then end with some fevicol that was this time’s Cricket how To I hope you liked it, I hope you learned something, if you liked it them please subscribe to the channel, hit the bell nitification icon so you will know when ever I post a new video. Ill see you in the next video. Im Snehal Pradhan
