Maybe things are turning around. We started well and went close through Bonazzoli early on. Unfortunately, Lecce took the lead with their first attack and it seems like things aren’t going our way, but despite playing badly and making many mistakes, the boys never gave up. I understand the fans and must thank them because they supported us throughout the game. They showed their disappointment at the end and told us how they feel. I say to them: “Dear fans, the team is going through a tough spell. Morale is low and the confidence isn’t there, but they believed and fought till the end. Stay close to us. Better moments will come, but it’s hard at the moment.” We’re in a bad way, but we’re on the mend, which is why we have to stay on the same page and let them feel our support. I could see a handball from the dugout. I thought it was handball from there. I couldn’t believe my eyes when the referee rescinded the red card and ruled out the goal. I said to myself we had to take advantage of that because the game was back on. That’s how we build for the future. Now we need to ensure that this point that we’ve had to scrap tooth and nail for, is a springboard for doing well in Ferrara. It’ll be another tough game, but we have to get points on the board.
