into the video number two is a 1980 WBTV Charlotte oz Cal Ripken jr. minor-league
card number 16 graded PSA 8 near-mint to mint condition population of just 13
with none graded higher sold at auction in August of 2019 for 9600 dollars number one as you all probably know is
the 1980 tops Ricky Henderson rookie card number 482 graded PSA 10 gem mint
condition population of just 24 sold at auction in July of 2018 for $30,000
all right guys what’s important here with this Ricky Henderson rookie card
the population of the PSA gem mint tens is just 24 that’s how that’s the only
reason it’s able to achieve a $30,000 selling price on average all right look
it up online on eBay or PSA card calm those puppies so on average for 25,000
to 30,000 dollars been found in PSA 10 gem mint condition all right guys so I’m going to show you
how to look up a population report for a card all right first thing you want to
do is go to PSA card calm and up here in the blue menu you’re on it want to hit
pop report all right and that’s gonna bring you to this menu
so let’s look up that nineteen eighty tops Rickey Henderson just type it in and it’s going to pull
up right down here automatically now this is the power of the PSA 10 chimp
int value all right as you can see over here this is how many cards have been
submitted so far for the Rickey Henderson
so about 19,000 700 of the Rickey Henderson cards have been submitted of
those cards only 24 that were found in Jim mint condition ok this is why they
sell for so much money because only 24 are in a PSA 10 case all
right 1930 are at a mint 9 case 9,227 are in a
near-mint to mint near-mint to mint 8 case 4826 are in a near mint case and so
forth and it keeps going on 19 were just deemed authentic the card itself is not
rare no it’s the chimp in condition grade that’s rare okay now if you go up
here to this little auction I’m just gonna have a list of all the cards all
the grades click 10 and then it pulls up all the recent sales so August 8 2019
one sold for PwC see sold one for 25,000 Holy Grail
25,000 and then here’s the 30,000 won that I have in this video by heritage
auctions so you can see it’s between twenty-five and thirty thousand thirty
thousand thirty six thousand on the high end and twenty-two on the low twenty-one
on the low end down in 2017 yeah look at that card the values are just in two
thousand nine one sold for $7,000 all right 2012 once whole for 11 so you
can see that price has gone up not much since 2015 no because it’s month sold
for $30,000 2015 alright guys so I just wanted to show that show that to you and
point that out real quick that way there’s no questions or confusion about
why these Ricky Henderson cards and PSA 10 Jim mint condition sell for so much
okay it’s because only 24 cards exist in the PSA 10 case so just wanted to
clarify that alright guys that’s it it’s a top 25 most valuable baseball cards
from the 1980s I hope you enjoyed the video comment below let me know what
card you think should be on the list if I miss any cards subscribe to the
channel if you want to see more videos like this don’t forget check out PSA

  7. Another great viddy mate! For me, my favourite card of the 80's is the Topps 86 Jose Canseco. Still love the card to this day.

  8. Your videos are awesome Matt! I appreciate them. You are very clear and thorough on how to submit and teach us on grading! 👍

  9. Being I’m from Washington and a big mariners fan basically every ken Griffey jr rookie card from 1989 is/are my faves! I have two of the 1989 upper deck sets and about 2 each of the donruss, fleet and topps rookies 👍

  10. First off love your videos! My favorite card from the 80s is ken Griffey jr 89 upper deck and the 84 Donnie baseball mattingly

  11. I have alot of cards i would love to mint. Ive sent 10 cards to psa n it came out to $200 total and i have like about 1000 cards i would love to send to get minted. My question is there anyway posible to get them minted at a cheaper price Than $20 per card i dont have 20,000

  12. 24 is Ricky Henderson's number! Thanks for the video! I have a suggestion. What about college cards values. That's 4 videos there. Baseball, football, basketball hockey ,golf and racing!

  13. Fun stuff. One of your videos popped up on my YouTube feed. Being curious, I checked it out and before you know it I’m in my attic digging out all my boxes of Topps baseball cards. Turns out I have 1980 Rickey Henderson, a Tony Gwynn rookie, Barry Bonds rookie and 2 Cal Ripken rookies among several hundred other keepers. Will be checking out your site and then submitting a few cards to see what I have.
    Genius marketing. Well done.

  14. Dear SIR…EXTREMELY WELL DONE VIDEO. THANK YOU FOR SHARING AND THE KNOWLEDGE YOU BROUGHT TO THE TABLE MY FRIEND.! A CARD IS SIMILAR TO A COIN? FIRST OFF…DULY NOTED….THE GRADE AND AUTHENTICITY OF THE BEAUTY. YOUR KNOWLEDGE IS ABOVE ASTONISHING AND UNFORTUNATELY I DON'T KNOW FACEPAGE WELL. HOWEVER I WILL BE HAPPY FOR THE WINNER OF YOUR GIVEAWAY. THANK YOU ❤

  15. Want to see if you can make videos on cards that are not psa 10. Like psa 8 or less . N how much they are worth or sold for.

  16. Are you sure that Tony Gwynn was a Topps card? The scan you showed looks like an O-Pee-Chee. I think the PSA 10 population for the Topps version is much higher.

  17. What videos does they explain how to send them off for Vaule and the condition of the card I want to see the videos so I can have someone look at them so I can sell them all the procedures what to do

  18. The cards you are showing has Vaule in them these are the ones to look for all the cards of the years you are showing are the ones I need to find so I can sell them

  19. I appreciate that you emphasize condition when it comes to valuing cards. As someone who grew up collecting coins/comics/cards, I know all about condition! I was known for being really anal as a kid and would throw/give cards away for the slightest ding. My buddies/family always thought I was crazy. To me, unless it's a really old card, it's not worth keeping anything less than a 9.5.

  20. Mr. Matt, Thank you for the great videos. Plus the education you add is super. I have people all the time trying to sell me cards in raw condition saying I saw it on eBay for thousands of dollars. I'll start sending them to Matt's YouTube class for a lesson in vaule and PSA. Rickey Henderson, they sure don't make base Steelers like that anymore. Have a wonderful day
