it right First of all. All pass in volleyball begins with the initial standing.
So before we begin to perform the overhead pass,
we have to take proper initial standing,
I’ll show you Our initial standing, i.e. we are going to recieve a ball. Our initial standing is this: legs are bent,
lowered trunk hands are bent,
and we are preparing We are preparing to move to the left, to the right, forward, back. I’ll show you this way. Here is the initial
standing We are pointing to the overhead pass. Our standing is like
a cat that is going to catch a mouse. Our
initial standing get ready We can just immediately move to the left, to the right, forward, back. Move
and do the overhead pass First of all we have
to do – correctly to stand under the ball I will explain you what does it
mean to stand under the ball to the overhead pass. We have to stand under
the ball so that if we take off the hands,
the ball would fall down to the forehead. I show you this is the ball. I’ll show you with the ball We are moving under the ball and if we take
the hands away the ball falls down to the forehead. I’ll show you from the side here we are moving under the ball doing overhead pass take the hands away,
the ball falls down to the forehead. That means we have moved under the ball correctly If you are recieving
a ball and it flies high to you This is wrong. It means when the ball flies high to us we have to
move back. I.e. it was high move back,
it falls down to the forehead, this is right Or you chest down the ball, just here show from the side This is wrong too. If you do not have time
to run up you have to sit down under the ball and it would fall down to the forehead This is the right position That means we have to move under the ball correctly. If we take our hands away,
the ball falls down to the forehead. The same to the left and to the right
here is wrong. Here we have to
work with the legs so that the ball falls down to the forehead. At first we work with legs then with hands in volleyball.
So we have to move with legs
under the ball to do it comfortable for making overhead pass. Legs are the next. You run up to the ball
correctly and standing on straight legs, doing overhead pass. This is wrong, that your legs are straight. Legs should be bent. The trunk is the next. The trunk is a little bit lowered. The legs are bent,
trunk is lowered. The arms The arms are outstretched,
I show you the arms. Our arms Our arms make the triangle. The arms are outstretched,
they make the triangle This is the right position If you place them this way this is wrong
and it will be uncomfortable to you. You also can’t outstretch
the arms widely You should make the small triangle with your arms. I show this. The next work with hands and fingers. I show you Hands and fingers are making a hole So this is the space. The hole is for the ball. Look – this is the hole I will show you this way.
