World Cup 2019: England vs Australia

The Cricket World Cup is hosted by England. Australia vs England match was held yesterday. Australia won the toss and chose to bat and England had to bowl. Australia only scored 14-3 in just 7 overs. Steve Smith played well and scored 85 runs. This helped them scored a total of 223 runs and they were all out at 49 overs. England’s two bowlers Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid both took 3 wickets each. Jofra Archer took 2 wickets. Once they finished, it was England’s turn to bat. Opening batsmen Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow scored a partnership of 124 runs. Roy scored 85 runs from 65 balls and Bairstow scored 34 runs. First Bairstow got out and then Roy got out. When Roy was batting the ball was caught by the wicketkeeper and the umpire called for a wicket. However, the television review showed that ball did not graze the bat and it wasn’t a wicket, but the umpire had already declared a wicket. They did not have any reviews left as they had already used one earlier. They could not ask for another. It was a wicket and he had to leave. Joe Root and Eoin Morgan scored 49 and 45 runs respectively. England beat Australia by scoring 226-2 in 32.1 overs. England won the match. The Finals will be held between England and New Zealand on 14th July 2019 at Lords. England has qualified for the finals three times but they always lost. Earlier New Zealand had also qualified for the finals but lost. Now New Zealand and England have both qualified for the finals.
