Yesterday the India vs Bangladesh match was held. India won the toss and chose to bat. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul were the opening batsmen. They scored 180 runs and were not out. Rohit Sharma scored a century as well. At 9 runs, he was dropped by Bangladesh. They really regretted this. Sharma then ended up with a score of 104. In the 2019 World Cup, he has scored a century four times. In the 2015 World Cup, Kumar Sangakara from Sri Lanka was the first to score four centuries in a World Cup. Now Sharma is the second. After Sharma & Rahul’s wicket, the Indian team lost many wickets. Their batting was not strong and they lost many wickets. They scored 134 runs in 124 balls. Rishabh Pant scored 48 runs and MS Dhoni scored 35 runs. This helped India reach a score of 314-9 in 50 overs. When India came out to bowl, high hopes were on Mohammad Shami and Bhuvenashwar Kumar who was returning from injury. Bangladesh seemed to be in good form and were capable of winning. However they quickly lost wickets. This is because they did not have a strong partnership. Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hassan is a great bowler as well as a batsman. He scored 66 runs. In this World Cup, he has scored six fifties till now. This is the same as Sachin Tendulkar. Jusprit Bumrah took 4-55. At the 47.4th over he took his third wicket and at the 47.5th over he took the fourth wicket. Bangladesh was then all out at 286 runs and lost by 28 runs. Thus, India won! India has now qualified for the semi-finals and so has Australia. England, New Zealand and Pakistan will now compete for a spot in the semi-finals. The India vs Sri Lanka match will be held on 6th July. She is an 87-year-old woman who energitically cheered for India despite her old age. She was cheering just like the other youngsters who cheered every wicket, boundary and six. The cameras kept zooming into her. After India won, a wheelchair was brought for her and she was helped onto the field. Virat Kohli greeted her and kissed her. Rohit Sharma greeted her as well. Virat Kohli tweeted pictures with her and thanked her for her support.
