World Cup 2019: India vs England


Yesterday, on 30th June 2019 the India vs England match was held. England had lost their last two matches. They were extremely tensed about their match with India. They were tensed as it was a tough match and they wanted to qualify for the semi-finals. At the England vs India match, England won the toss and chose to bat. Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy scored 111 runs and 66 runs respectively. The both scored 160 runs together without getting out. Ben Stokes scored 79 runs and helped England reach a high score of 337. They scored 337-7 in 50 overs. Bowlers such as Yuzvendra Chahal, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav did not play well. They gave away many runs. Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket. The other two did not take any wickets at all. Indian bowler Mohammed Shami took 5-69. Jasprit Bumrah only gave 44 runs in his 10 overs. They could have scored 350. However Bumrah’s bowling stopped them at 337. When it was india’s turn to bat, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul came to bat. KL Rahul was out at zero runs. Virat Kohli then came in his place. He and Rohit Sharma managed to increase India’s score. However Kohli got out at 66. Rohit Sharma stayed on to scored 102 runs and kept the hope alive. However even he got out at 102. All the players that came after hardly scored 30-40 runs. In the last 10 overs, India needed 102 runs. Everyone was very tensed. Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni were on the field and managed to increase India’s score. Everyone hoped that India would win but Hardik Pandya got out. Dhoni could not score all by himself. The team slowed down and only scored singles. Dhoni scored a six in the end but it was of no use. India lost the match. They scored 306-5 in 50 overs. They lost by 31 runs. It is not yet sure whether India will qualify for the semi-final or not. If India wants to qualify for the semi-finals, they need to win atleast one match out of the two matches against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
